Probiblio & Bibliotheek Rotterdam
project overview
This project was developed for Probiblio and De Bibliotheek Rotterdam, who wanted to make book clubs more appealing and accessible to young adults aged 17–27. Their goal was to move away from the traditional, formal perception of book clubs and instead create a modern, social, and interactive experience that encourages connection, participation, and creativity. The final concept, Connection Through Stories & Flavour, reimagines how people engage with reading by combining literature, culture, and food. The design features interactive elements such as a Bookmark Wall for sharing reflections, a Food & Story Table that connects stories to sensory experiences, a Sticker Kiosk for personal expression, and an Interactive Map archiving community memories. Through user research, co-creation sessions, and iterative prototyping, the project responds directly to the client’s wish to engage younger audiences and transform libraries into inclusive, cultural meeting spaces. The result is a multisensory, community-driven concept that celebrates stories, creativity, and connection.
